When a place like Gaston opens on bustling Hastings Street, you can sit back and be thankful that the term 'market saturation' doesn't seem to apply to restaurants. Throwing its hat in the ring alongside some of the area's biggest heavyweights, Gaston brings its own unique charms and sophistication to the Noosa dining set.
It has a Francophile name and iconic French decor, but the culinary influences here are much more diverse than one single country. As well as plenty of Gallic cuisine, gastronomic flourishes from Thailand in the form of a fragrant nam jim dressing are just as likely to make an appearance as the Mediterranean verve of a classic spaghettini with chorizo, feta and olives.
