The twin of Garfish in Kirribilli, this Crows Nest sister continues the commitment to seafood that has made Garfish something of an institution amongst Sydneysiders. With the same slick decor and extensive menu, this branch has one up on her sibling - being licensed for drinkers, so tipplers can sit and sample the cocktails or a bottle of wine. The bar is a perfect place to sit and wait for a table with the rest of the milling hordes, happily putting up with Garfish's policy of no bookings after 6.30pm for a taste of their beer-battered flathead. Once seated at a table, diners have the choice between the blackboard menu (the freshest fish from the market, cooked how you like, with your choice of garnish), or the a la carte menu featuring everything from basic fish 'n' chips to prawn and green papaya curry. For those who got lost on the way to '$5.00 Steak Night' at the local pub, there is even a bit of beef, but the seafood is this place's reason for being and it would be a crime to miss it.
