We all know that French is the food of love. When you're talking about adding pastries and chocolate into the mix, this might just be the most romantic cafe on the planet.
Do yourself a favour with this place - don't worry about the closing time, just look at the opening time and get there as close to it as possible. By the time the doors shut here, almost everything is sold out.
The standout offering is a hard call to make - some prefer the pain au chocolat, some the mille feuille. A safe bet is the twice-baked almond croissant. The almond croissant is a contentious point in classic French baking (syrup or no syrup, pressed or free-standing, fresh or day-old?) but co-owner and patissier Didier Sockeel's effort shouldn't fail to please.

not happy
I ordered a cake from Ganache for my 21st birthday. I specifically asked for the chocolate shavings to be a mixture of white and dark chocolate (not just white as shown in the photograph). We paid extra for a birthday message to be piped onto a plaque on the cake. When we collected the cake, the piping was awful. It was downright messy. We took it back and the staff were not happy and said it would just be eaten anyway. They made a new plaque, however this one was bad too. It's not a matter of handwriting. The writing was poorly spaced, the chocolate thick and thin in consistency, and with a smudge. lovely. I turned the plaque over, and piped it myself. I am untrained and yet my version was better than theirs. I would be embarrassed to give a customer a cake with writing like that on it. Moreso, I asked for dark and white chocolate shavings. What did I get? Purely white chocolate. The cake was very nice, however I am far from impressed with their attitude and lack of pride in their work. I paid for that cake and I should get what I asked for (which they agreed to). Although their food is good, this incident has erked me and I won't be be back. Only to complain in person.
