While many Italian restaurants have either a woodfired spit or a woodfired oven, this gem of an eatery has both. For diners, this means a sumptuous choice of goat, duck, pork, lamb and venison, as well as a range of seafood, chicken and vegetable dishes. The ideal entree to such a rich meal is the antipasto plate - a mix of herb-infused sundried tomatoes, Italian sausage, smoked salmon salad, mushrooms, olives, artichokes and even some satay sticks - but there are a host of Mediterranean starters for less than $20. This place is ideal to take the family on a jovial weekend evening.

Veal meatballs are the best in Perth
Food was exceptional. We have been a couple of times. The veal meatballs are the best in Perth. I personally loved the artichoke ravioli, my husband had the lamb cooked in the wood fired oven, also good. Pricing on a par with most Perth restaurants. Service slow and we couldn't understand the waiter. When ever we asked for a recommendation he would always pick the most expensive on the menu! The tiled floor was very slippery, the hard floor also made it very noisy and hard to hear the person across the table. Don't let this stop you going.

Just great Italian
Came here with a staff member for a thank you dinner, 3 courses later we were stuffed and very very happy. Special mention must go to the pasta (both the bucatini and the spaghetti with pancetta) for being just perfectly cooked, al dente, not too much sauce but plenty of flavour - all the things pasta should be but rarely is in this town. The meat dishes were also fall off the bone tender, combine that with an extensive wine list and great service and it's a win win situation really!

I'm not your Waiter so I can't take your order even though you've been waiting an hour
This was my third visit to Galileo Buona Cucina, and as expected, the food was fabulous. This was despite lacklustre service. We were a little concerned at our orders not being taken for a full hour after we arrived... we kept asking for someone to take our orders, only to be told by three different people that they weren't the food waiter but that he had been informed and would be along in a minute. In the end, a girl took our order and, as we feared, the fantastic sounding specials had run out so we were a bit grumpy about that, believing if our orders had been taken half an hour earlier we would have been able to have our first choice. The wine list is excellent, and prices are very reasonable.

Great Italian
We went here the other night last minute (to be honest because Osseteria de Sapori was booked out!) as we had heard good things for awhile. Were they ever right; the food was amazing. The baby goat I had was a generous serve, well seasoned and fall off the bone tender, best goat I have ever had. My partner's salmon ravioli was top notch too, with a cherry tomato sauce. Wine list is extensive, interesting and not too expensive, all in all a great find!

Brilliant
The food is fantastic - we had the bruschetta to share, then the lamb and the crepes for mains and profiteroles to share for dessert and it was all great. Some of the best food I've eaten in Perth and really good value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The interior isn't anything special but it's got a nice atmosphere.
