Looking for Japanese that literally blows your mind? Gaijin Japanese Fusion turns up the heat with dishes like Dynamite Udon, a concoction of baked and chopped imported scallops with egg, tobiko, udon noodles and, of course, a tongue-tingling spicy mayo sauce. But it's not all about spice at Gaijin, which takes its status as a contemporary "fusion" restaurant very seriously. Executive chef Toar Christopher brings years of experience from across the Asias and United States, even trained by celebrity chef Shigeo Yamane. His unique twist on traditional Japanese staples like sushi, tempura and udon injects some ingenuity into the Gaijin menu, which also features dishes like the signature coconut crunch salmon roll, the Big Bang crab stick, and the Spider vs Dragon roll, featuring soft shell crab and unagi. Are you ready for a fusion experience?

Great food!
Gaijin has a All-you-can-eat sushi promotion for lunch and dinner, Tues-Thurs, so we decided to check out the Tuesday dinner session. The all-you-can-eat promo is a great way to try a lot of their dishes. We loved the Coconut Crunch Spicy Tuna roll, the coconut provided an interested texture and the spicy tuna was spicy enough to give a kick but not reaching for the water. The Cheese Me Up roll was another hit, as was the Spider vs Dragon roll. We tried almost everything on the all-you-can-eat menu once and ordered seconds on the very fresh sashimis. Service was prompt and efficient, and we were pleased to see that the second round of orders arrived quickly (some all-you-can-eat places drag their feet on the 2nd order). They might not serve 'authentic' Japanese food (hence 'fusion'), but the creations were yummy and great value as well. Highly recommended!
