As you feel the lure of a warm Sydney evening pulling you outside, make your way to the courtyard at Furusato. The Japanese food is as colourful as the decor, and the service warm and welcoming. The combination of bonsai garden and jazz is a very good one. In fact if jazz was a food it could well be sushi. Furusato's Japanese menu doesn't stray too far out of the ordinary: it runs through teriyaki, beef katsu, noodles and sushi/sashimi. All in all this is a very pleasant place to dine - especially in the bonsai garden. There's also a private room upstairs if you feel like getting rowdy with a group of friends.

I went here for dinner tonight with my partner. He had the dinner set, I had gyoza and a sushi/sashimi combination. He was pleased with his choice and mine was pretty decent quality and incredibly good value (sushi/sashimi combination was $18 - 6 pieces of sushi, 12 sashimi). However, the service was slow and inattentive.
