In the already jam-packed coffee suburb that is South Melbourne, this newly-opened hole in the wall has thrown its hat in the ring and is definitely holding its own with superb coffee, pastries and sandwiches.
With an ever-changing menu of gourmet goodies, freshly-baked pastries and fresh seasonal produce, not to mention a darn good cup of Allpress coffee, Freestyle is definitely one to seek out when the South Melbourne Markets get a bit too crazy for you.

Our friends told us about Freestyle, and man are we glad they did. We had such a great late brekky there today, really tasty avocado on sourdough with little roasted vine tomatoes and fresh lemon, SO GOOD! And just a classic poached big breakfast, that was just so fresh and perfectly cooked, and not greasy and fatty, it had a fresh tomato salad with basil, avocado and perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. The coffee was perfect, the mucic was great, it has a great feel and the staff, although pretty busy, were so friendly. It was so nice to be welcomed by happy people! We'll so be back and really recommend it.

Best new addition to South Melbourne's coffee + cafe scene!
I sat in their window enjoying the morning sunlight for nearly 2 hours yesterday morning - infront of me was the BEST bircher museli I've every eaten (the passionfruit curd + toasted almond flakes a differentiating twist!) The lattes are smooth and creamy AND all the on-site made food displayed in the cabinets looks positively delicious! - I'll be back this weekend to get into some of their fresh baked goodies!! The staff are friendly and welcoming and the space has a little quirky look & feel which so suits its South Melbourne locale. I highly recommend Freestyle for brunch - you WON't be disappointed people!
