Elevated above the stunning coastline of Perth's northern suburb of Sorrento, Fratelli Restaurant boasts a panoramic view of the beach and the sparkling azure waters of the Indian Ocean. The front-facing wall of the restaurant is made entirely of tinted glass, allowing diners to watch the sunset with minimal glare. Further minimising reflection, the restaurant features black tablecloths, which, with mustard yellow and aubergine feature walls, lend the place a distinctly masculine feel.
Sam Stavreski is your typically charismatic front man, who'll happily mix you a pre-dinner cocktail or pour you a drop from the well-sourced list of WA wines. His brother, Norm, sits behind the helm, ensuring that Fratelli's friendly team consistently delivers the level of personal service and good quality food their regular customers have become accustomed to. First-timers shouldn't pass up the opportunity to try the Fratelli Favourite - a choice of grilled chicken breast, fresh local fish or a tender sirloin with sauteed baby prawns tossed in mushroom and asparagus cream sauce and served with roast potatoes.

Great Service, even better Food
The food and service here are top notch. The view across Sorrento Beach is stunning. The waitresses were very attentative and the food serves large and tasty. I'd suggest if you're having the Fratelli Fave to have a service of vegetables or salad between two or three people. No chance for three courses - as much as I want to, the meals were just too big. I couldn't fault anything about this restaurant. We'll be back again.

Shanks to die for!!
This place has the best shanks EVER!! I'd go back just for the shanks. My wife loves their fish of the day and I can also vouch for their marinara which is one of the most full of seafood marinars around (and not just chunks of fish). The service is great and the manager regularly floats around the floor to ask how your meal is. Lastly how can you knock a great meal overlooking the sun set over the ocean?!?

Great place to dine if you're not so fussed about ambience
The service from the time we got in to the time we left was excellent, with the manager constantly looking after us and taking care of our orders. The waiters that came round to serve us were efficiently and friendly. The food was great, in both size and taste and presentation. It's amazing how using some greens on the plate can liven up a meal.I have the steak, and it was done medium rare as requested. The only thing about the place is the look of it. I think the decor should be upgraded to match the view. And since the view is there, why not take advantage of it and open up the place more.

Dinner at Fratelli
Can't understand some of the negative comments made previously we had a fantastic experience. Food was excellent good sized portions for the big eaters; service was fantastic especially the pace (not a rush but not too long). Will become a regular it was great value for money.

Great view let down by school cafeteria-quality food
We decided to try this restaurant after having friends say it was good, albeit a couple of years ago. It was a very quiet Thursday night; the restaurant had a lamb shank special and a risotto special, so my husband ordered the first and I the second, thinking that the specials would be the freshest things on the menu. How mistaken we were. Somehow, they managed to overcook the lamb shanks (an impressive feat for such a forgiving cut of meat) which were dry and tasteless and were in a gravy that tasted like it had come out of a soup can. The risotto had better flavour, but tasted of chicken stock cubes, had far too many insipidly large chunks of carrot and zucchini, and the chicken breast pieces in it were dry and tough. My toddler, who loves and I mean loves pasta, refused to eat the penne in bolognese sauce that we ordered for him - it was about as al dente as a bowl of porridge and the sauce was very bland. No parmesan cheese in sight either, not even the diabolical powdered kind. I know lots of kids don't like parmesan, but there wasn't even grated cheddar or mozzarela on offer. The restaurants good points - fast, friendly service and a fantastic ocean view. Unfortunately, the restaurant's interior needed some cleaning; and the high chair we were given had cracked vinyl with foam trying to escape. IKEA do high chairs for $25 - a small investment I think. Anyway, it's such a shame that such a good location is let down by such poor-quality fare. The place should be buzzing every night of week. It isn't, and the reason why is not the view or the service.

Cool place
I went here with my wife a few months ago after I saw a review on them in the Menu Magazine. The prawns were probably the best I have ever had. The only thing I did not like was that it was very hot inside as the sun came directly through the windows. On the other hand, we had a great view of the ocean.

Sunday Lunch at Fratelli's
I went here last Sunday for a meal with my family. We've been there on previous occasions, but not for a few years. The view is great, but the interior although OK, could be so much more. ( toilets were a bit grotty ) We were seated pretty much as soon as we entered, but, were not given menus for at least 10 minutes later. The restaurant was not that busy, so only thing I can think of is they were understaffed. ( only had 2 wait staff) Menu had a fairly good choice, and we ordered a garlic bread (3 pieces) and a bruchetta (2 pieces) to share amongst 3 of us to start with.( 2 adults & a child) The garlic bread was eatable, but nothing to write home about. Hubby said the bruchetta was tasty. I had a nibble and have to say it wasn't as good as ones I've had else where - but then again, I've never had two that taste the same anywhere. Our daughter ordered the 'kids menu' spaghetti bolognaise, but she left most, as it tasted mostly of tomato paste. I had the Marinara, which was tasty enough with quite a bit of seafood (eg: fish, prawns, squid & scallops) , but had way too much pasta for the amount of sauce, so that got left too. Hubby had the Fratelli Favourite (chicken & prawns) Although he ate it all, he wasn't all that taken with it. He was still hungry when he'd finished too ( he is a big eater though, so maybe not the size of the portions fault?) . We had a Greek salad as a side and that was nice. All in all, it was OK, but, not something we'd be telling friends about. It's great location, across the road from the beach, so maybe give it a go and see how it spans out for you.
