Fraser's Restaurant

Located at the top of Kings Park, Fraser's has some of the best views and food in Perth. From the deck you can take in the beautiful bushland, the city skyline and the Swan River. The dining room has a contemporary feel with dark timber, warm reds and deep blues. Seafood is strongly featured on the menu, from chilli soft shell crabs to chargrilled rock lobster with lemon butter. However, there are still plenty of weighty options for carnivores, with options such as the roast loin of lamb. A selection of premium WA wines is available to match.

Fraser's? FineDining? Cafe?
Fraser's seems to have an identity crisis and doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. The staff are dressed very casually and the colour scheme is drab and boring. There is certainly no wow! factor on arrival. The kitchen seems to cater for the restaurant as well as 2 function rooms and there was also an outside function on the evening that we were there. The food, whilst pleasant, also lacks a wow! factor. It seems to be mass produced which it probably is. It was . . . . pleasant. I expected, and wanted, more than pleasant.

Dont go there for Christmas
The food was not worth it and they charged us a bottle of wine that we did not have. The service was good - even when they were really busy and the atmosphere was great.

Epic Dining Experience
Decided to celebrate Valentine's a little early this year, headed to Fraser's, due to its reputation. Was blown away by initial reception; very warm, friendly, professional. Shown to a table on 'The Terrace', outside underneath big beautiful ghost gums, overlooking city and river - a dream location, really. Menu great - found it very hard to choose and prices not as bad as I thought! Service was outstanding - so nice to see when so much of Perth hospitality has gone to hell. Served by one girl who never left my glass empty, courses on time and the food - could not fault it. Asked waitress to match wines to my food, she did it effortlessly. Her knowledge of dishes amazing too. Had the soft shell crab for entree (superb) and the barramundi on porcini mushroom risotto made from pearl barley for mains (purrrfect). Desserts were excellent, good range and I recommend the churros to share. All in all, I highly recommend this place, even if you don't have a special occasion. Good to see Perth can do food at this standard.

The worst Christmas meal I have had in a restaurant.
We made a booking for a family Christmas Eve dinner. This was probably a mistake as the turkey roll was obviously something you could get in a supermarket freezer. We were charged $8.00 for a bottle of water, although I suppose this is par the course in restaurants nowadays. We will not be returning.

Loved it loved it loved it!
We recently got married and my husband myself and two witness went to Frasers by limo. The food was gorgeous, service was speedy fast, the view was to die for, I couldn't complain. More than impressed and was on a busy Saturday night. Waitresses and waiters are all young and hip beautiful looking people. Highly recommended.

Dining at Fraser's Restaurant
Couldn't fault food, delicious three-course meal enjoyed by one couple. Service eractic though; once we had eaten and paid couldn't get us out of the door quick enough.

Wine selection excellent but felt a little overpriced.

Amazing
So many restaurants rely on the view. Not Fraser's. The food was amazing, such amazing tastes! Some food becomes too complex, but this chef seems to concentrate more on the excellent produce. The waitstaff were very knowlegable about the food and very helpful - I would go back in heartbeat. I have dined there several times now and the it is very consistent. I look forward to another meal there soon.

The restaurant advertises they cater for 110. On this evening they had well in excess of this number of customers and there was no way they could cater for the numbers. My husband and I dined with 7 close friends as our annual Xmas get-together where we aim to go to a special restaurant. We were all extremely disappointed. The service was shocking to the point where we had to continually ask for drinks to be brought to the table and chase up what was happening with our meals. We waited over 40 minutes from placing our order to receiving our entree. The entrees were OKish except a friend did comment that the fish chowder was very average. The mains were a near disaster. One curry dish was served without rice. It wasn't until my friend asked about the rice, that it was brought to the table and merely dumped in front of her with no apology. I ordered the fillet steak which according to the menu was accompanied by a red wine jus and some sort of potato dish. The meal arrived very poorly presented as a slab of meat with a side dish of potato minus the jus. I had to then ask for the jus which was delivered to the table in a small jug again with no apology. I could not eat my steak. It was the worse tasting meat I have ever had. It had a very strong taste to it so naturally I sent it back and it was deducted from the bill. The desserts were all very nice.

Acceptable for fine dining - but not 'great'
I have been to Frasers several times - including the Function Room (gorgeous catered breakfast with views over the city) but on this occasion, frequented the restaurant for dinner.

Frasers has a reputation amongst my friends as having 'average food, better dessert and fantastic views' which sums it up in a nutshell. There is nothing special about their main courses. They're expensive - as you would expect and satisfactory. Satisfactory as in they're palatable but nothing extraordinary or impressive.

I had the soft-shelled crab which is a dish done very well in Asia and although the crabs had sufficient meat to them, it was overly oily and overpowering.

Desserts are definitely worth saving up for at Frasers. They do these on par with any of the other fine dining restaurants in Perth.

The view and atmosphere is of course great. Panoramic views of the city. I don't know where they got their music from but hits from the '80s and '90s really doesn't suit. Which is why I only gave them 3.5 stars for atmosphere.

Frasers is a popular restaurant and have one of the most expensive (double shop price) winelists I have ever seen. Extensive. But expensive. Even for a fine-dining restaurant.

Would I go again? Perhaps? There are enough fine dining restaurants in Perth that I have many other to choose from so it may be a while. Worth it to try ... once or if you were invited to go there.

Maybe this time we were unlucky
The food has gone quite downhill since the last time I've been, but then again a must at Frasiers is steak.

Unfortunately this time round we ordered a variety of other dishes which were disapointing. In particular was the fish chowder in which the pieces of fish still had scales attached. And the daily special of double-cooked pork belly which looked just like the pork one can buy from the nearest Asian BBQ place. Overall very disappointing.
