Ladies who lunch now have a new spiritual home in Mosman - yet Fourth Village Providore is much more than just a place to parade golf tans and designer prams. With the Providore's temperature-controlled cheese room, racks of produce, and vats of house-pressed olive oil as a playground, what's on the plate is mix of the seasonal and the inventive, with a gentle Italian lilt.
At breakfast and lunch, chef Flavio Tosolini presents a menu that reinvents itself weekly. Current stars include nostalgic favourites such as toad in the hole, breakfast bruschetta and French toast with panettone as the main players. Later on, wooden boards of antipasto, pizzas fresh from the yawning fire, and generous bowls of pasta invite family-style dining, while in the warmer weeks the menu is awash with variations on the salad theme, including a pompadour of rocket and prosciutto with a delightfully kitsch addition of balls of melon.
Whatever time of day, when it comes to dessert it is hard to discount the childish glee that accompanies their glutinous servings of Bravo gelato. The green apple may be a summer stand out, but whatever your age, hazelnut proves a classic that will never date.

Popular and worth it
Went to the early family dinner session with grandma, mum, 2 girls under 5 and two month old twins in a double pusher. Could not have been treated better. Waiters were very professional and looked after us all even though the place was packed. The pizzas were true italian and excellent.

Highly recommended.
This is a great restaurant, the menu changes according to what's fresh and in season. Provides a great alternative to traveling over the bridge for other similar providore type dining experiences.
