Four In Hand Hotel

It was a good cosy Paddo local even before Marque chef Mark Best took it over, and then it became a bistro that received an SMH Good Food Guide chef's hat after he did. Now that Best has flown the coop, the Four in Hand has nabbed chef Colin Fassnidge, and the news thus far is only good. Fassnidge's experience comes through in skillfully prepared and densely flavoured meats and seafood on a small (but perfectly formed) menu.

Wagging Tongue
Last Friday night my wife and I enjoyed one of the best meals I can recall having for some time. We were fortunate to get a booking that day and were seated upstairs which was certainly quieter than the main downstairs dining room although we were not ignored by the attentative waiting staff. Tuna belly entree was beautifully plated and a delight followed by the highlight which was Wagyu tongue. Not something I would normally jump at on a menu but as it was one of the special dishes that night I had to give it a go - an asbolutely superb dish, flavoursome and tender like nothing else I've eaten. Macerated strawberry dessert was a perfect ending. I was so absorbed with my meals I have totally forgotten what my wife had! Great wine list too!

Sensational
Excellent experience - the staff were fantastic and helpful despite our late/last minute booking and dishevelled appearance! The food was sensational and as good as ever - especially the pork entree. The atmosphere is always great - although a little bit too noisy when the room is full. Highly recommended.
