Not what it once was
I last went to Forty One almost exactly five years ago - that particular night is still the ultimate dining experience I have ever experienced.

This time round we had the degustation menu with matched wines. While the food was very, very good, there was nothing overly exceptional about it - some dishes didn't really do it for me. In fact, the singular best part of the meal was the artichoke and truffle soup (not on the menu) served in between two courses. The service was fine, but again was not what it once was.

Overall, it's a nice restaurant with a wonderful view and attentive service, but I feel that one can do better for the price.

Boring long desgustation menu dinner!
I had the degustation menu with wine with my partner. I had a different degustation menu from my partner. I did not enjoy the courses as much as my partner did as his appeared to be better and more interesting than mine when they serve them. The most boring part of the dinner was that the waiter was stiff and had memorised the dishes and was just blabbling out the names of the dishes - and we had to smile and pretend we understood what he was mumbling about! What a long boring dinner!
