Like a little piece of Darlinghurst right where you least expect it - in Sandringham - this place is stylish, sophisticated and a serious food player. Owners Matt Oxenham and Petrit Gratsis favour an industrial, inner-city look softened with cute touches like the coffee-cup chandelier and oversized-cutlery wall art.
The food is classic cafe fare, just a notch above the rest, with Brasserie Bread, Farmer Jo muesli and Di Gabriel coffee adding a sense of great quality. The giant brekky (with eggs, bacon, tomato, chorizo and a potato rosti, all served in a pan) is a winner in the mornings, and for lunch, locals love the burger - a big, meaty hulk of a beef patty with, bacon, cheese and tomato relish. There's plenty on offer for children, and amazing cupcakes will have adults and kids salivating at the sight. Now also open for dinner, Foodies is a force to be reckoned with around these parts.
