Inspired by the gourmet produce stores of London and Paris, Perth's highly acclaimed foodie Christopher Hiller has brought a slice of continental style to WA's own fashion hub. Previously the food and wine buyer for David Jones in Sydney, Christopher certainly knows gourmet produce, and it shows. Not only in the delicatessen's tantalizing displays, but also in the flavours, textures and colours of his food which has wooed the rich and famous as well as the less loaded locals.
With limited seating, you may have to jostle for a table, but it's certainly worth it. For brekkie you can have your eggs scrambled, poached or fried, on Lawley's bread or with bacon; Benedict or Florentine; scrambled with crumbled feta and spinach, or smoked Tasmanian salmon. For something more substantial, try the signature Malaysian satay chicken cake with sweet chilli onion jam. For the perfect accompaniment to Food's great coffee, you can't go past a brownie or citron tart.

Overpriced
Although the big breakfast was good, it was extremely overpriced given there were only 5 things on the plate. The spinach was bland, the bacon undercooked. The coffees came after we finished eating too.

Lush lunch
We were at the Burswood golf course and thought we would stop in here for lunch on our way home. The day was gorgeous and the al fresco dining was great, we got served drinks straight away and had the nicest bruschetta, we will definitely come back here again when we are in the area.

At the circus
Thought we'd grab a bite to eat somewhere 'different' & gourmet. Place wasn't busy. Decor nice enough. Not impressed by impatient unfriendly service. Drinks fridge not stocked well. Self serve water from tap. The little things were not attended even for a cafe, ie; tomato sauce not individually served, just plonked on table in its bottle & there was only one bottle of tomato sauce for entire restaurant apparently. Food pricy & not particularly gourmet at all. The overall feeling was one of a school canteen actually. We both had a sandwich, the flavours ok but it didn't warrant $17 for a club sandwich & chips that weren't seasoned well. Did not appreciate seeing staff smoking on breaks near entrance to cafe, nor sitting inside idly chatting.
