One of the most popular Mexican eateries this side of the harbour, Flying Fajita Sisters stands out from the pack because of its interesting fusion approach that makes you reconsider how much you really know about Mexican cuisine. We're talking the well-known US-style Tex-Mex meets the more foreign and experimental style of traditional Mexican, without an overemphasis on chilli (well, aside from the "wall of pain" area by the bar, where the hottest of hot sauces await for the thrill-seeking few). The banquets here are particularly popular, given the abundance of dips, fajitas (of course), nachos and other goodies on offer.

Group bookings -don't bother!
I could not agree more with mkb73, we had a similar bad experience but with more people. This restaurant clearly cannot cope with group bookings.
For $30 per person we got some corn chips with dip, 1 sopes each which one table got a beef drop and the other chicken. It would have made more sense to have a combination on the plate for everyone to choose from as most people prefer one over the other. Plus there was not enough for each person and we had to ask for more, which felt like we had to beg for.
Then for our main, plenty of fajitas with not much meat filling to go around. Meat was overcooked and not even enough for a prawn each.
My question is what did we really pay for here? I could make better mexican at home to be honest.

Best mexican food in Sydney
Sydney isn't a great location for mexican food however I have found Flying Fajita Sisters. Food is good quality, tasty, generous, and good example of actual Mexican food. Staff are friendly and try hard, however sometimes they can be a little vague so communicate well, and get agreement on requirements, and all should be good. Great place for a group night out.

Worse Value Ever
Whilst I agree with other members on the friendliness of the staff this still could not overcome the sheer bad value of this restaurant. We were a birthday table of 12 and due to the time of the year were forced to order the 'Christmas' Banquet of $35 per per head - this is what we received: 3 x small chips with a trio of dips on the table of which contained a grisly, runny chilli dip and the ubiquitous guacamole, which is to be expected, no big deal. Our very miniature entree of 4 Sopes then arrived which were tasty however we had to cut each in half just so we could all have a taste (the one serving between four should of been per one). Then the real kicker was the main - just three diminutive plates of meat/prawns -(there were not even enough prawns each) beans & salad for the table with plenty of fajitas left over. All the time each of us were looking over our shoulder thinking this can't be it? When we quizzed the wait staff, twice, we were told that this is what the banquet contained and could order more at our expense if we cared. Utterly astounded and hungry we left. My belief is that this restaurant do not know how to cater to group bookings. I recommend that they seek the advise of erciyes restaurant - their banquet menu would blow these guys out of the water several times. I never feel the need to write about a bit of bad food and service however this experience was so terribly lousy I feel compelled to do so.

Flying Fajita Sisters
I had my 30th at this restaurant and with 21 people in tow I was wondering how it would be.
All I can say is the service was perfect, the food was perfect and the margaritas were even better.
The atmosphere was alive and buzzing!! 2 thumbs up!!

Flying Fajita Sisters
Mexican food in Australia is usually truly sad and uninspired. But here we had fresh tasting food, black beans, nice margaritas, beautiful corn chips and great staff. A display of many chili and habanero sauces to choose from as the food is not made spicy hot, but you can dose it yourself. Looking forward to trying it again. All in all Mexican food that you can eat!
