There's no pretension or stuffiness at Flying Dragon, just a quiet, self-assured confidence in the recipes that have seen this place become a Templestowe stalwart for more than 20 years.
The menu at Flying Dragon is extensive, to say the least. Covering all bases of the usual "Westernised" versions of Chinese regional cuisine, the chefs here do a laudable job of producing so many dishes without letting the overall quality drop. If you're dining in a group, be sure to order the crispy roast duck. You may have to have a few chopstick swordfights to get the last few bits but the indulgent, crispy skin is worth fighting for.
