March 2007 saw the dawning of a new era for the Canterbury Leagues Club with Flame Bar and Restaurant providing an upmarket dining experience for the club's grown up patrons; a strict 'no children' policy is in force. Head chef Simon McNamara crafts a contemporary menu that ranges from woodfired pizzas to a more formal a la carte menu. The open-plan eatery includes plenty of outdoor seating, while the cosy lounges and booths inside are a perfect setting for snuggling up with friends over a tasting platter, which might include king prawns, oysters with lime, and grilled quail.
