To simply call this a fish 'n' chip shop would be a bit of an understatement. Fishmongers began as a Byron Bay favourite before migrating to the southern shores of Bondi, where the locals welcomed their thick-cut chips and lightly battered fish with open arms. However, this place offers more than just that classic combination of grease-shiny potatoes and fish. Take a seat under one of the fishy artworks and sample some kumera chips or tempura vegetables, or peruse the specials board, which is filled with out-of-the-ordinary seafood dishes.

Shared a calamari with salad and small chips with my friend. Calamari was cooked perfectly, salad was fresh and the kumera crisps are a delicious addition!
The chips were thick and almost wedge style, not too oily and the basil pesto on the side is fantastic.
Fairly busy on an early Sunday evening, families and byo makes it a good local spot.
