This Bentleigh East spot began making waves when it opened in early 2010 for being so much more than your usual fish and chippery. With fresh seafood cooked in healthy rice bran oil (guaranteed by cookers that monitor the oil and keep it at a constant 180 degrees) and a sleek, modern look, this is a fish shop that operates like a piece of well-oiled machinery. The menu will please purists, with nothing but good, old fashioned fish and chips and associated complements like classic, house-made potato cakes and pickled onions. The folks here know they're onto a good thing so there'll be no branching out or resorting to wacky, attention-grabbing stunts here.
