Located in the heart of Dickson's restaurant strip, Firestone Pizzeria Bar has a slightly industrial feel about it. High ceilings, polished concrete floors, a colour scheme of burnt orange and chocolate brown, large dangling light globes and retro wallpaper all add to the spunk of this restaurant, making it a standout pizza joint. The specialty here (not surprisingly) is the woodfired pizza with traditional Italian toppings. There are also some not-so-traditional sweet pizzas on offer, such as the popular strawberry, marshmallow and white chocolate pizza.
If you want to branch out a little, there are some non-pizza options on the menu such as risottos, pastas, tapas, steaks, chicken and salmon mains, as well as pizza-free desserts. Firestone also offers a takeaway pizza, pasta, share plates and a salad menu for those who'd prefer to enjoy the gourmet experience at home.

Warm and friendly service with coffee and cake to match
We went here on a cold evening for coffee and cake. The service was brilliant. Warm and friendly. We had coffee and dessert and both were delicous. We'll be back for sure.

Fantastic Food
I recently ate here with friends on a busy Saturday night. They were one staff member down but still managed to get our meals out quickly, which is a credit to the staff. The meals were amazing, I ordered chicken mushroom and asparagus risotto and it was the best risotto I have ever tasted. My friends were equally impressed with their meals. The service was also fantastic, and the staff were happy and smiling. I would recommend anyone to eat here and we will definately be going back!

Very disappointing
Unfortunately my experience with this place is not as positive as other reviews. My boyfriend and I decided to go here for my birthday after hearing it was really good. Prior to going to Firestone I had looked up the menu and was impressed by the variety of pizza, pasta & mains.
The night really was a disaster from the moment we were seated. When we were seated, we noticed there were flies everywhere because of the large window open at the front of the restaurant. At first I wasn't too bothered by it, but by the time our entrees had arrived I was annoyed. Throughout the entire meal we were constantly waving our hands around trying to get rid of the flies, at the same time trying to eat.
For our entree we decided to share a pizza, which wasn't anything special. Before we were even finished with the entree our mains were brought out - this was extremely frustrating because my boyfriend hadn't even finished his last piece of pizza and had his entree plate taken out from underneath him!
For the mains I ordered gnocchi with napoli sauce and goats cheese and my boyfriend ordered a risotto with parma ham, scallops, shallots & brie cheese. This was by far the most disappointing meal I have ever had! The napoli sauce for my main was quite obviously not made fresh or from scratch and tasted like bottled tomato sauce. It was so salty I was unable to finish my meal. My boyfriend s risotto was severely undercooked, gluggy and the scallops were dreadful.
We decided to leave because the meals were so bad. The experience overall was pretty poor and we were out of the restaurant in a record 25min! Although the staff were very apologetic and removed my boyfriend s risotto from the bill, I won t be going back.
Perhaps if we had only had pizza then the outcome of the night would have been different, but I do not believe this restaurant should boast such a large menu with such variety if they cannot cook half the meals to restaurant quality. If you can't cook it properly then don't bother.

Dessert pizzas were the best part of it
We arrived at 6pm without a booking, and by the time we left at about 730 the place was packed. Initial service was good, prompt and friendly.
We got the haloumi and chorizo sharing plates and a pizza to share, and it was just the right amount of food for 2 hungry people. The sharing plates came with 4 servings of little sausages and cheese which both tasted good, albeit a little greasy. The pizza, which I was expecting to be greasy, was delicious, woodfired and just the right consistency on the base and decent amount of topping.
But the real highlight of the night? The white chocolate, strawberry and marshmallow pizza for dessert. I'd go back for that alone, it was just beautiful. And they had a bunch of other interesting sounding dessert pizzas on the menu that would be nice to try another time! Bear in mind, the dessert pizzas are the same size as the main pizzas, probably good for sharing between 3 people, certainly not to be attempted solo!
Only problem with the service was when it got a bit busier, we encountered delays, with a long wait between getting menus for dessert and placing the order. The table next to us experienced the same delays, but for placing their main and drink orders.
The equivalent of 3 course dinner and drinks for 2 people was $90. So all up, the food was good, desserts brilliant, service good and friendly, and the price made this DEFINITELY a winner.

Many more to follow....
Firestone has bought a new buzz to Dickson and a wonderful new taste!
Dining at Firestone with friends and family has won our hearts many times over. Good quality delicious food is the key, followed by friendly staff and their service.
You must start with the sharing is caring plates, risotto balls with crab meat, calamari or even for the strong palate the gorgonzola (for cheese lovers!). The pumpkin, pesto, pine nut & goat's cheese pizza is a favourite for a main as well as spaghetti with king prawns and chilli or osso bucco papardelle. But next time (I know) my favourite will be something new!
Always end with something sweet, sweet pizzas, cheesecake, tiramisu or even the gorgeously presented mini gelato cones with raspberry sauce... need I say more?

Great addition to Dickson
Great laidback vibe to the place, cool music and simple but interesting pasta with good quality ingredients. We didn't have pizza, but they looked yummy so will be back to sample in the future.
