The Moulin Rouge-like ruby wallpaper, perspex chandelier and groovy textured light fittings from De De Ce scream posh, but the kitchen at Fifi Fouveux's keeps things simple so its cafe patrons can get a good feed lickety split and at reasonable prices. The feta omelette is popular at breakfast, as is lunchtime's chicken schnitzel with rocket and oven-roasted tomatoes, cooked to order and sandwiched between artisan bread from Brasserie bakery. The cafe is run by brother-sister duo Sue and John Pelekis, who used to run the nearby Blue Rock cafe, but are enjoying flexing their muscles in a much bigger kitchen.

Fantastic!
Fifi's is my choice when visiting Sydney. I was staying at the Medina Apartments on Crown Street when I came across this little gem! Friendly service, fine food and fabulous value. I would recommend to anyone visiting Syd. Tasman
