If you had any doubts about the authenticity of its Mexican menu, then the hanging pinatas, handpainted wall features and bright furnishings ought to convince you that Fiesta is South American cooking at its most festive. With a blend of all the old favourites - nachos, fajitas, burritos and chimichangas - it emphasises simple, family-friendly Mexican cooking. Well, besides the snappy margaritas, which are strictly adults-only.

Well worth the price
Delicious food, I tried the combination as previous recommended from a review. It was so tasty! I was very happy with my choice. The staff are delightful and friendly. The restaurant environment is very lively colourful and pinatas everywhere definently feels like a fiesta.

A definite to return to!
Fiesta had everything I was looking for- tasty drinks, tastier food, great staff and a lovely dining atmosphere. From the moment we walked in the door the staff were extremely attentive. There's good choice in the menu, I decided to have the burrito especiales which was delicious. Hard to believe I hadnt been here before, but I do know that I will be back very soon!

Maintaining good standards
We used to go to Fiesta years ago. Now we have teenagers and decided to revisit. It is still the best Mexican Restaurant in Melbourne. I had a Beef Chimichanga and others had Burritos and Fajitas. Food was tasty and Margaritas were worth dying for.

delicious, and amazing margaritas!
I've been to Fiesta Mexican a couple of times for dinner and drinks after work and its always been great. Last time I had the Chimichanga and it was delicious, the beef was really tender and the flavours were great. They also have amazing (and huge) margaritas, and its a really friendly atmosphere, so its an awesome place to come to get your weekend started. Highly recommended.

Great Restaurant
I went to Fiesta last Friday for my friend birthday party and had awesome time. I have been to number of other Mexican restaurants but i feel Fiesta is by far the best Mexican Restaurant in South Yarra, Melbourne. Great food with great service and function room... 5 stars... highly recommended, must try once if you haven't been...

A surprise
After reading the reviews on here and other websites our expectations were not very high. We had early dinner prior to catching a 7.30pm dinner so booked for 6pm. The waitress was welcoming and quickly took our drinks orders (great margaritias). Although the restaurant was full by the time we left, perhaps a calm evening meant that we received prompt service.
Good menu, if not a little condescending (ensalada = salad... oh really?? Who'd have thought). I had the chicken breast which was cooked well - not dry. The refried beans were tasty. Others at the table had cheesy enchiladas and fajitas. The kitchen coped with some minor changes to the menu. Only disappointment was the salad served on a hot plate (read=wilted greens) and the rice was a little undercooked.
All up, slightly above average.

Home delivery is false and food is tasteless
It says on their site that they do home delivery, yet they will not deliver to our house which is less than 2 km from them. They shouldn't advertise local delivery if they can't deliver locally; pretty simple concept!
The fajitas were tasteless and our beef was mostly gristle. We won't be getting food from here again.

Tasty food, generous portions
Lots of choices on the menu & the meals were very filling. Food was tasty & they adjusted to suit everyone's spice level. One person's meal was forgotten on a table of 7 but the meal was quickly made & sent out.

Mexican not up to scratch
I like to think of myself as a fairly generous judge of places after having been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years however the score here is truly a fair reflection of the restaurant.
We landed here quite by accident as we were meeting friends that had a very late cancel on us. We decided to wander down Toorak Rd and my wife looked at the restaurant and felt Mexican was something different. I wish she hadn't.
Service was so slow that I had to ask three times for a drink which arrived 30 minutes after I was first asked, and they weren't busy.
We ordered entree and main and no sooner than the entree had been served the main ended up right next to it. Can we wait 5 minutes we asked? That wasn't what the waitress wanted to hear. She stomped off with our main and refused to look at our table for the next 45 minutes.
Our waitress came out of hiding and asked why we were leaving. When told that the service was terrible she looked straight at us and in her words told us that we were the most unreasonable people there all night and her patience had run out with us.
Can we please pay the bill and leave my wife asked? Response. You will pay all the bill including the food that you didn't eat. When explained that you don't serve entrees and mains together we were told bad luck, we are busy (70 percent full)and we give you your food when it's ready. I asked to see the manager and was told that the manager would stick up for his staff and if we didn't pay the police would be called. Fine, call the police I said.
The manager appeared and hastily sent us on our way with the last line being please don't come back, we don't need customers like you.
Dont go to Fiesta if you want good food, good service and a friendly goodbye.

We had a large booking, we were told banquets MUST be had by all guests. We were put in an upstairs room with another big booking. Six of our group had to go sit downstairs as they could not accommodate us. The meals were practically thrown on our tables and food portions were extremely small.

Group dinner party
We had a large group for a birthday party and things got a bit out of control... may have had something to do with the large margaritas. Staff became frustrated with losing control of meal orders (which in turn upset guests). Better organisation and approach to group bookings (ie: taking names with meal orders), might help avoid this happening. Food was generally pretty good, though my partner never got her meal...shame.
Maybe better for quieter dinners, though the function rooms away from main dining area are a good idea.
Would definitely return (and leave my riotous friends at home).
