This bistro within the Morrison Hotel is well known as one of the best steak restaurants in Brisbane for its quality bang-for-your-buck meals. Though steak isn't the only thing on the menu (they also do a mean woodfired pizza and the lamb with minted peas - stuffed with basil and pine nuts and served with crushed potatoes and a red wine jus), it is a good choice, especially when it comes to the house specialty. The 360g premium eye fillet is aged 100 days, grain finished and wrapped in bacon and is chargrilled to perfection, though you'll need a fairly healthy appetite to attempt it.

Worth the visit!
My fiancee and I have been roadtesting steak restaurants in Brisbane and Fiasco's at the Morrison is one of our favourites by far!
We ordered the eye fillet & rump steak - both with a side of chips and salad. Medium rare cooked perfectly! The Mushroom & Pepper sauce were of an adequate size, both had real mushrooms and peppercorns (none of this fake stuff!).
The staff are happy to get more sauce for you at no cost if this is not enough but this was more than enough for us.
The wine list is above average for your local pub, staff were very friendly and attentive, I can't fault it. We had the 05 Margaret River Watershed Shiraz, the staff were quick to refill our glasses.
I have not seen a dirty plate in the 3 visits i've been. Make sure you call to reserve a table as it can be booked out if you just turn up.
I will be returning!

Don't waste your time
Had the Wagyu steak and asked for it medium well. I got charcoal on the outside and bleeding in the middle. I could have cooked it better myself! The pizza was soggy and had no taste. There is soooo much better out there!!!!

Best steak in Brisbane
I have been to the Morrison restaurant about 10 times now and the steaks have to be the best in Brisbane. I have never had anything else from the menu other than the steak but everytime the steak is perfect so have never had a need too. This place is however a steakhouse so I would only go for this option. My husband and I always have the mignon - it's always perfectly cooked and you get an option of chips or potato (both are amazing) and garden or caesar. You also have a choice of four sauces - we always have the mushroom which is beautiful and creamy! A few of my friends have however ordered steak medium rare and I think they do undercook the steaks slightly. I prefer mine medium to well though and this always comes out perfect. If you do like yours medium-rare I'd ask for it medium. The pizza bread entrees are wonderful - especially the camembert pizza. If you like oysters I'd definitely recommend these as well. The oyster shots are addictive! Overall - best steak in Brisbane and I eat a lot of steak.

Not even close
Popped in for a quick early dinner at about 6.30pm and asked for a table. Small fuss about no booking so we had the option of outside (cold) or in the doorway. Fair enough, but the place was still over half empty by the time we left. Vegie pizza and a Wagyu steak ordered, one drink each and sit back and wait. Our food arrived quite promptly, the steak was small but nicely cooked and the pizza well, cooked base, raw topping, no flavour and loads of cashews (cashews?) Had to eyeball a waitress for another drink and when I moved my plate slightly I felt that the underside had food on it, cooked on by an overloaded dishwasher. Yummo, same same with the pizza plate. Not good. I finished my steak and as my partner picked up her last slice our plates were whisked away. Very disappointing, they need to do better than that and we, as customers certainly can. Sorry, but there is much better out there.

Diamond in the rough
From the freeway this place looks like nothing, however, once you've tried the 60 second calamari entree and get your steak cooked as you've requested it, you'll understand why I like this place. The lighting and decor are spot on which is nice as so many places overlook this. With alfresco dining and friendly staff, this place gets my thumbs up time and time again.

You won't be disappointed
We have been back several times over the course of five years or more and we are too scared to try something else in case we will be disappointed. The steaks are done as you like it and very tasty. I would probably like more attention to our table to order and remove plates; otherwise they are very friendly and professional.

As good as it gets
After trying the usual steak haunts, I was utterly shocked to find a place that could do it better. The Fiasco steaks are to die for: melt-in-your-mouth tenderness cooked perfectly, with great sides. The oyster Kilpatrick are worth a shot, too.
