Yet another restaurant in the ever-growing list of hits for the team at Papaya Thai, this one has the same great flavours and funky decor as the Cremorne and Cammeray originals.
The first thing that greets you upon entering Fat Monk's is, well, a fat monk. A huge red mural of a festively plump holy man gives this bustling restaurant its catchy (albeit politically-incorrect) moniker, with the rest of the trendy decor being fitted out in true Papaya Thai style. The food, as we have come to expect from the team at Papaya, is flawlessly-executed classic Thai, only this time with a few more diverse culinary twists thrown in.

Very disappointed
we booked a table for 10 and had to squeeze around a table that was suitable for max 8 people....it was very uncomfortable. We asked for a table to seat 10 plus a pram...when we left we had to raise the pram over all the other tables to exit. This place is really really tight. The food was ok the service was below average. We asked for our bill numerous times and eventually paid on the way out. There were dishes we ordered that we did not receive. I would not return.
