I love this place!! - It is the real deal.
I often give Italians restaurants the flick! I come from an Italian family and my nonna had an Italian restaurant on the Sunshine Coast.
BUT THIS PLACE MADE ME COME BACK!!
It is the closest thing that has ever come close to my nonna's home cooking. The first taste and smell of Scallopini Funghi (veal with mushrooms in white wine and cream sauce) bought all the memories flooding back. I had a real lump in my throat and I actually shed a tear. The straciatella (Italian chicken soup) was awesome and the pasta and gnocchi the best. This is not a fancy restaurant. But if you want true authentic, home kitchen Italian peasant food. You must come here. You will not be dissapointed! The service....like anywhere in Darwin is very average, but the food definitely makes up for it. The atmosphere is typical colourful bistro. I almost expected my nonno to start playing his mandolin and start singing Italian songs in the back corner. (I can only wish) For a piece of 'real' Italy - come here.

Below average
I went to the restaurant for a takeaway order and found below average customer service and long wait times. Prices are over what they should be too. Is there any good pizza in Darwin?

Great Pizza
We came late on a Sunday and had a great pizza meal for two. It was the best pizza I have had. Not at all greasy, fresh toppings and not too cheesy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

An institution
For those who can't afford the fare to Italy it's all here. Chaos, panache, and arm waving. Bring patience as the service is erratic to put it mildly. Love the clocks on the wall, very '60s - '70s, try the JR pizza and the calamari. The rest of the menu is good too.
