Evida

Perched right on the beachfront with a massive glass frontage, water views don't get much more in-your-face than at this spot. Open throughout the day, Evida is ideally situated for beach walkers who pop in for a quick focaccia during the day, or for a casual dinner in the evening. The range of pizzas and pastas is supplemented by several Mediterranean-style specials. Desserts include a range of cakes, provocatively displayed in the cabinet.

Not Happy
Having grown up in the area and frequented this venue over the years I was really disappointed with everything apart from the beautiful view of course. On a quiet night, we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive despite constant assurances that our food was "on it's way". After seeing tables that arrived much later than us receive their meals and observing several of these meals being sent back to the kitchen, we decided to just cut our losses and leave. Doing the right thing, we advised the staff of our intentions and requested the drink bill but were advised that we still had to pay for our food anyway so decided to get it takeaway (and waited yet another 10 minutes on top of this). When we eventually rec'd the food it was definitely not worth the wait. Come on guys! A piece of overcooked barramundi that was obviously not fresh and undercooked, soggy chips that had a hint of sugar(!?!) on them? These were unceremoniously dumped into a paper bag with a pool of oil at the bottom. The blue swimmer crab flesh in the pasta distintegrated into a tasteless pulp on impact with a fork. I wanted to speak to the owner as I think owners should know exactly what's happening in their restaurant (I'd want to know!?!) but our request was refused. Fast food from a quick and nasty franchise would have been far more pleasurable than this experience. The guy at the front counter was way too argumentative with us when we I think we had a very valid point (or ten). I can remember when Evida first opened and how great is was. It's very sad to see somewhere that was once so fabulous now become so very, very disappointing. Interesting fact, spell their name backwards and it pretty much sums up the food/service component of their offering.

Very disappointing
Very displeased with the overall dining experience at this cafe. The service was not great - waiting staff began clearing plates whilst others at the table were still eating.

The food was less than average - poorly presented, serving sizes were very small given the menu prices and the overall quality of the food was something less than you'd expect at a "franchise" type cafe.

The only positive was the generally good atmosphere and ocean view although a nice view is not a justified substitue for good food and service!

Disappointing
It was very disappointing after hearing such good things about it. Both meals were average.
