If Thai and Indian cuisines are too hot for your liking, consider trying Ethiopian food. While it contains many spices, they are spices that impart flavour not heat; Ethiopian cuisine won't burn your mouth. It's also an alternative for those looking for vegan or gluten-free options. At this establishment, Ethiopian dishes such as Gomen (tender beef in spinach and traditional spices) are served on a mosob, an authentic Ethiopian plate. Patrons are invited to eat with injera, a traditional Ethiopian bread, rather than a knife and fork.

Delicious and different from the usual dining experience
Service can be patchy, but on a great night, everything's an absolute treat. I suggest you try the Mosab dining - lentils, veggies, meats and injera breads, SO delicious. I also dig the homemade lemonade, ginger beer and homemade ice cream, especially in jaffa. You gotta try this place, it's ace.

Great food
I quite enjoyed the meal I had at Ethiopia Down Under. Friends and I shared the meat combination. It was flavoursome and filling.
Service was good, no faults there but nothing exemplary.
Overall definitely a restaurant to check out if you're looking for a tasty meal.

Great food and friendly service
Ethiopian is not something I would have known what it was, but having tasted the food at Ethiopia Down Under, I'm hooked! It's quite similar to Indian but without the rice (traditionally) - instead they serve a kind of pancake bread. The food was great, the deserts are fantastic, and if you go, you've got to try the coffee - without milk. It is not bitter at all!
