When Adriano Matteoni opened the first Paper Cup in Stanmore he promised it wouldn't be the only one. Now just a few months later he has stayed true to his word, cracking open a brand new cafe in the sleepy suburb of Lilyfield.
In true Matteoni style, whose previous ventures include smash hit cafes Clover and Clipper, the decor at Espresso Bar by Paper Cup is sparse, yet fashionably so. The austere wood panelled interior is offset by the brightly coloured, albeit mismatched, table and chair combinations outside.
Given the locale, don't expect Espresso Bar to be jam packed at all hours of the day like Matteoni's other cafes. What you can expect is a friendly local where you can finally get a decent cup of coffee while still in the 2040 postcode.
