Esca

Strolling along Marina Pier through the sea of tables and market umbrellas, you'll find a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant with all the right ingredients. If the seafront location and classy modern fit-out wasn't enough to entice, the food and service follow the theme. Although risotto and pasta are there for the faint-hearted, the Portuguese classic, seafood cataplana, is served from that unique steaming pot onto the diner's plate at the table. All the fruits of the sea are cooked to perfection, and the delicacy of the broth is the perfect match. The special occasion is well catered for with an extensive wine list, and premium, cellared options are also available. For the best finish to a meal on the marina, have the orange and almond cake with some of Adelaide's best coffee, then relax in the lounge bar with a nightcap.

Anniversary
Food is great, service is excellent. Been there and dine there. I was there for my anniversary with my partner. we had the Anti-pasto for entree, which had pickle octopus, salami, prosciutto, and a serve of rockette salad in the middle of the plate, and I had order the seafood catapalana, and my partner ordered goat pasta as our main, food was excellent. One of our service staff, Sarah is the best, she offered us alternative wine to accompany with our food. Gotta back there again!! Is a must!!

Birthday celebration
The menu sounded better than it tasted. I ordered the pork belly and found it bland and unappetising. My partner ordered the lamb rack and all he got was 2 pieces of lamb(barely a mouthful on each chop). The restaurant is overrated and expensive and not worth the money we paid ( $32 each for main course). I expected a delicious, appetising meal but left hungry and disappointed. We will not be going there again or recommending this place to anyone.

Fine dining
A relaxing resturant with good food and service. In summer the view to the west is into the setting sun and the blinds have to be drawn. Well worth the visit particularly later in the year when the setting sun moves to the north.

Fantastic experience
We picked this restaurant blindly out of the yellow pages but were rewarded hugely. Although expensive, it left such a good impression - service was as it should be - there as soon as you need it and inconspicuous for the rest of the time - and everything so quick! After some bread as a starter I went to the loo and the main was there when I came back! Waiters were knowledgable about wines and offered taste-tests. The view was lovely once the evening sun sunk a little. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. We thought the food was exceptional. Enjoy!
