Restaurant Information
Eros Kafe
Sitting in prime position on Rundle Street next to its bigger sibling, Eros Ouzeri, Eros Kafe has been doing a roaring trade in cafe-style breakfasts and traditional Greek lunches and dinners for years. Luckily, its spot on the Southern side of the street gets plenty of sun in the afternoon, so you'll often see diners lingering all afternoon over a bottle of wine and watching the beautiful East End folk go by. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and the food is traditional Greek with an emphasis on fresh seafood - as is the Greek way. Try the htapothi tis skaras (chargrilled octopus tentacle that's been tenderised, gremolata-tossed and stacked on a salad of baby spinach, chickpeas, roasted garlic, walnuts and semi-dried kalamata olives with a citrus aioli dressing). The vegetarian kleftiko (filo-wrapped vegetable and cheese parcel) on a green lentil ragu, and of course, the classic moussaka, are also popular choices.
