In a neat royal coincidence, Empress of India sits on Queen Street, so the original empress herself, Queen Victoria, would be quite impressed indeed. And so, this imperial Indian eatery specialises in the famous British style of Indian cuisine known as "Balti", for which deep woks are used in cooking the tantalising curries. From meat to seafood to vegetarian meals, Empress of India's cuisine continues to satiate the appetites of many Melbourne city-going folk.
