What do you get when you combine a top chef, a refined maitre'd and a stunning harbour locale? It's a match made in culinary heaven at Eleven Kitchen and Cellar, the brainchild of chef Jeff Schroeter, and maitre'd and sommelier David Murphy, both formerly of Eat City and Bayswater Brasserie. Located on King Street Wharf in the space that used to be Essence, Eleven brings a touch of modern European elan to the proceedings, offering a sophisticated menu of culinary tantalisers like kingfish carpaccio with toasted nori salt and finger lime pearls, and slow-roasted lamb shoulder with a warm salad of cannellini, borlotti and French beans. Encouraging communal dining, the menu is set out as a degustation where you choose three to five items to share among enthused company. There's also a tasting menu to go with the comprehensive wine list.
