2nd time Around and doubly disappointing
As is the case with so many places, especially the new ones..They'll wow you the first time and you go back to experience the atmosphere from the first trip and its completely lacking! What happpened, Miguel? We went on late Sat and the place wasn't even busy and we were just neglected, no other way to put it. Someone forgot or drinks order, we asked for bread to go with the Chorizo dish and it never got delivered and when asked, we were given a bowl of stale bread!! No apologies upon paying the bill, the sardines were edible only slightly as they hadn't been gutted or not done properly..I'm not sure! If it was a busy afternoon, I would be ok..but it was a easy relaxed afternoon (worked in restaurants for 18 years, so I can tell) and this should have been so much better. We had reservations about the service from last time but the vibe and the food made up for it, but 2 times? Sorry, Miguel..My girlfriend refuses to go back again.
Look, the food is good at El Toro Loco! Definitely inventive and easy and fun, but look at the service guys or your customers won't be coming back with repeat business..

Original and inventive food, great location and not too pricey
Great location, by the water..But just like us, everyone else had the same idea..wanting to get a table at rush hour:-) Name was taken, we were asked to go to the bar for a drink. Great idea, as we got a jug of sangria and sat on casual seats while waiting for our table and realized we could just order and eat where we were..That's the beauty of tapas..It's a bit awkward trying to manouvere, but better than waiting 45 mins for a table :-) The head chef is loco (crazy)! I mean that in a good way..He looked like he was having fun and enjoying his kitchen..Good sign..got our salted cod croquettes (divine), kingfish ceviche (inventive but the vodka and fish sauce burns) and the potted chicken (amazing taste). The staff are friendly, but looked harried as the place was packed with ppl. On occasions, it's hard to get their attention as they are so focussed on doing the next job or going to the kitchen or to the bar, but not a big issue.. For a new place, this place is just hitting it's straps. The food is original and inventive (plz keep it that way), it's not too pricey for tapas and drinks (hear and hang your heads in shame, som of you over-priced ones..tapas is meant to be affordable), the combination of seaside venue, crowds and good food and sangria and salsa..it's a winning combination..My first impressions are positive, but I wanna go back and see if they can pull that off again :-) Another adventure await..
