What was once a quaint little gift shop is now a quaint little gift shop with a bustling cafe attached, and you won't find too many people complaining about the change.
Replete with black-and-white striped wallpaper, dark-stained wooden furnishings and an ornate chandelier, Edmonds & Greer evokes imagery of a Parisian cafe, a thought which is only heightened by the impressive display of cakes and pastries. The main fare is mostly cafe standards given a much-needed facelift. Roasted mushrooms on toast, for instance, takes on all new flavours as standard field mushrooms are replaced with portobello and the addition of warm brie and rocket adds depth and texture.
