East Terrace Continental

Either on your way home from a big night or at the beginning of a big day, East Terrace should be your first stop for one of the city's best breakfasts. Well located near Adelaide's party central, Rundle Street, the cafe faces the beautiful Adelaide parklands and the bay windows give all diners a chance to take in the view. The menu cites a range of popular brekkie fare, including a stellar eggs Benedict and plenty of options for those who crave bacon and snags in the mornings. The menu also includes a range of stimulating Mediterranean dishes (try the chorizo sausages) and sweet-toothed offerings such as the banana pancakes with caramel sauce and rich cream. To top off your dining experience, indulge in some of Adelaide's best coffee.

You have to try this place!!
Ok, if you haven't been to this cafe for brunch then you seriously need to go!! The food is unbelievably good and servings very generous(I had the chorizo and egg breakfast, my husband had eggs with the garlic and yoghurt sauce and kids had pancakes with butterscotch sauce). Great coffee too....can't wait to go back.
Really relaxed, noisy and energetic atmosphere. We have small children so it was perfect-we weren't made to feel uncomfortable and they had lots of high chairs which was handy.
Can't wait to go again!!

Not for families - no room for prams.
Why is it trendy to seat people at tiny little tables and then serve them on huge plates! We could not fit our plates on the table and had to balance one on a stool! The coffee came in a take-away cup and the blueberry pancake tasted bitter.... The french toast was ordinary with awful apple pieces on top but at least it was a good size and came with a generous amount of maple syrup. My husband did love the works breakfast, however, we had booked and asked for two high chairs and only got one. Overall pretty poor but it probably survives because there is not enough competition in Adelaide. p.s. You have to line up to order. Is it really that much more expensive to get table service?

Fantastic Service, Food & Atmosphere
We have breakfast there every Saturday. The guys and gals who work there are super friendly, the food delicious. Banana pancakes - even when the price of bananas was sky high E.T.C's prices didn't move, and the bananas were abundant & delicious! Cappucino to die for...

Eggs Benedict
Popped in for a Monday brekky amongst tourists and city workers and wanted to try the eggs Benedict again after enjoying them on a previous visit. Coffees took a while to come out and food followed soon after. Super-rich hollandise covered two perfectly poached eggs which were sitting on thinly sliced tomato on an english muffin base. The tomato was a welcome surprise from the richness of the eggs and the sauce. All it needed was some chopped parsley on top and it would have been perfect!
