Dux Restaurant Cafe might be small, but don't tell proud owners David and Sheryn Alexander. Looking at the menu, wine list, special events and function capability, Dux is a dynamic diner run with energy and enthusiasm. The Dux motto is 'think fresh' - fresh food, fresh atmosphere and a fresh approach. They live this by making all cakes on the premises, holding special themed events like 'Seafood Sundays' and continually updating and expanding the wine list. Functions are a specialty, with ready-made set menus and capacity for 120 people for a cocktail party or 50 seated.

Disappointing and overpriced
For the prices charged the meals did not live up to expectations. The tasting plate entree was overpriced for what you get, the main meals were boring, the best part was the crepe and tarte tatin. We won't be back.

very nice food, good service
We came on a sunday night, one of the few places open for dinner. They have a very nice menu, not very large but with good selection. It is quite pricey, but the menu tends to the gourmet, so worth the price. Our waitress could not answer one question, so we received visit from someone more senior to answer our query.

Dependable local
I've been coming to the Dux since it opened, and while it's not earth-shattering, it is consistently very good at any time of the day. Service is a standout.
