With plenty of character and style, Duke's stands out on this little strip of Randwick for its fun, quirky looks and genuinely warm vibe. If the motorbike in the window doesn't get you, the bright artwork on the walls or the piano in the corner will. The breakfasts are pretty legendary among locals, with options like the Canadian Heartbreaker being just that: three pikelets, layered with bacon in between, topped with a fried egg and served with maple syrup. It'll get your heart started or else land you in hospital. Other specialities include French toast (with grilled bacon, banana, whipped cream and maple syrup) and the Sweetheart Pikelets (with fresh banana, strawberries, maple syrup, ice cream and homemade strawberry and vanilla sweetheart butter). There are some slightly healthier choices too, as well as a few goodies for lunch.
