Duende is an opulent tapas-style restaurant. The sleek modern fit-out is an interior design award-winner. The broad menu encompasses a range of Mediterranean-influenced dishes, all presented in large, easy to share portions. There's a fine selection of top shelf drinks and the wine list is particularly notable for its Spanish focus.

Brilliant food but SO NOISY
The food was wonderful - fresh, tasty and truly superb! We are not ones to complain of noise (and we are not old!), but this was ridiculous. The noise of the many patrons was enough, but on top of that was the extremely loud music. We gave up even talking in the end. We requested the music was turned down to no avail. We would love to go back for the brilliant food, but nup.

Fantastic Tapas!
My partner and I went to Duende on Sat night 7pm. The place was quite full already and was buzzing. Although the tables where quite close together you didn't feel like you could listen in on others. We did sit close to the entrance so had to watch the arrivals and departures along with the cold wind everytime the door opened.
We ordered a bottle of sparkling and a white and the waitress (Sarah) was very informative and helpful. They where a bit expensive but went well with the food. We had 10 courses and were too full to oder dessert which was a shame as it sounded amazing.
The food was amazing, in particular the scallops only 1 small serve each (2 would have been better) the oysters where very fresh, the mushrooms was So tasty. Also had the squid, samon, beef, potato bravas, chorizon (yum) butternut pumpkin was missing something but still yum and the ravioli was the least favorite as it was a bit tough to eat.
We would go there again but perhaps with a bigger group, not a romatic place to go but the food made up for it.

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant!
We have been to Duende countless times, and the place is the secret of the Leederville area. Totally faultless (and we're hard to please). Advisable to book in advance as the secret is catching on and this place will soon be the hottest place to eat in Perth. Service was impeccable and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The food is unbelievable and very different to anything you would ever have tried before. The Spanish donuts are a must. My favourite restaurant in Perth without a doubt and I'm yet to find anywhere else in the world that can beat it. Can't wait to go back!

Always Perfect
This is our favorite place to eat in Perth, the service is always friendly and personal and the food is outstanding. We have been there for dinner or lunch at least a dozen times over the past couple of years and have loved it every time.It is a great dining experience.

Don't go here if your actually hungry
I will admit this place has a great vibe and great service but I will say that you will depart at the end of the night with a huge bill and and an empty stomach. The 'food' is a bit too precious for the title of tapas.

A lovely evening
I really enjoyed our meal at Duende. The portions are tapas-sized, so order 2 or 3 at once. That being said, the service seems pretty fast, so it doesn't take too long between ordering and getting served. The wines were unusual but enjoyable, and the wait staff were very helpful when it came to matching wines to the food. This is not a cheap night out, but an enjoyable one.

Great service but the food was average
I'm a fan of this place and had great food once before, but it's not the same and the food this time was very average. Waitstaff were great, and I had great company, so it was enjoyable.

Just Okay
We dined at Duende on a Saturday evening. I booked the table for 2 mid-week, but when we arrived there were no tables available and they tried to make us eat at the bar (not ideal for an intimate meal). We complained (numorous times), ordered a bottle of wine, and 45 minutes later they gave us a table.
There was a really long wait for the meals to be delivered (hint: order a second course as the first one is delivered and there will still be a 30-45 min wait), but the dishes were nice when they arrived. The kippfler potatoes were surprisingly good as was the canneloni. I only gave the food 3.5 stars because the menu seams to be quite static and hasn't really changed much in the past year.
This place has great attmosphere, but the service was poor.

Delicious but not quite fabulous
I dined here with two friends. We ordered 6 tapas dishes to share. While the food was entirely delicious - duck prosciutto, snapper carpaccio, marinated mushrooms, chorizo - a break of about 30-40 minutes between our first three and then two dishes was a little silly. Our 6th dish was forgotten. Desserts were delicious - I had the chocolate mousse brulee with macerated oranges - YUMM!!
It all worked out okay, but the bill was very expensive. I'd go again for more tapas - definitely.
Wheelchair access is great here - flat entry and throughout, easy street parking or the big car park with plenty of bays near The Niche bar and accessible toilet. The toilet is a bit difficult to get into because of the door position.

Great but it will cost you
Really nice tapas and the wine selection is great but it's not a cheap place to eat. The staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly in recommending different wines to try. Extremely enjoyable place to eat but the price can creep up very easily, particularly after a few wines...

Brilliant
My favourite Restaurant in Perth where you can go for dinner and stay for hours as you graze on tapas and other scrumptous foods. Service is wonderful, the staff are really on the ball and nothing is "too difficult", wine list beyond any I've ever seen and a very funky atmosphere. I could easily eat there every week.

The food was outstanding. The flavours were out of this world. Very scrumptious and light, not heavy. Atmosphere is very romantic, yet it could be just a relaxing place to go with friends. All over my favourite restaraunt.
