Dragon Palace

Since 2008, Dragon Palace has held the mantle as the largest Chinese restaurant in Perth, offering seating for more than 400 people in the main dining room, and a space-age-style, late-night-early-morning karaoke bar with a gob-smacking 28 rooms. Everything is writ large at Dragon Palace, and that's definitely a good thing if you love Chinese, particularly Cantonese, cuisine. Dim sum and noodles reign supreme during the daytime, while lobsters, crabs, crocodiles, pigeons, prawns and ducks come to the table at night. The banquet and steamboat seafood buffet options are great for large groups looking to fill up before stretching those vocal chords in the karaoke bar.

Don't bother making a booking at this restaurant if it's just the two of you!
I have dined at this restaurant many times previously in a large group for Sunday dim sum, as well as in a smaller group of four for a la carte dinner. The food is pretty good although toward the higher end of the price scale for Chinese restaurants in Perth.
Tonight, I tried to book a table for my husband and I over the phone. The staff member rudely exclaimed, "oh my goodness, is that all?" when I told him our booking was for two people. He then asked what time we wanted and I said 6pm. Again he exclaimed, "oh my goodness". At that point I said not to bother if it was too hard. I will not eat here again.
