Great Authentic Canton Food
Hosted a group dinner here a few weeks ago and had a fantastic experience! Cantonese food is very close to my family's hearts as we were ex-pats in Hong Kong for many years, so we know the true stuff and the westernised knock off's...this was definitely the true stuff. All the food was all fantastic - we had the salt chilli calamari, lemon chicken, sang choi boi, sweet and sour pork, a sizzling chilli beef dish and desserts of banana fritters and mango puddings While the dishes may sound basic they catered to the more anglo tastebuds in our group and everything was done to perfection.
I was also quite impressed with the restaurant and service. I had booked for 11 people but some pulled out at the last minute leaving us with only 6 but when I informed the maitre de of the reduced numbers he was happy to oblige and gave no indication of frustration when the restaurant was packed out. Trying to get the waiters attention was a little bit troublesome but thats to be expected on a busy night
I was also impressed by the great table we had on the top platform where we could have some privacy but still get the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Would highly recommend to anyone.
