Situated right on the harbour, and with mostly outdoor seating to take advantage of the location, Doyle's at the Quay is perfect for a sunny winter afternoon or a balmy summer night. A range of variations on traditional fish and chips is the main feature of the menu.

Just gets better
We eat here every 6-9 months, and recently took 2 friends from Brisbane there. The food was fantastic, we shared a bunch of Entree's and a couple of Mains. This time the Steamed Prawns on a saled laced with coconut and coriander was fantastic, the Liguini with Squid Ink and Balmain Bugs was just fantastic, and the grilled John Dory and flathead was perfectly cooked. Why some people call this "Fish & Chips" is completely beyond me, unless they can't read !!

Great night
Peter Doyle at the Quay, formerly Doyles, has really got its act together. Food was great, service fast and friendly and you could not ask for a better location. Not just for tourists like people think but a real dining experience. Highly recommended.

Abysmal
The wait staff had the audacity to tell me my tuna wasn't overcooked when it should be seared. My tuna was cooked all the way through. I may as well have eaten a can of John West tuna instead.
Great views when you're outside, appalling decor within. Pity about the food and the staff that don't know anything about it either.
Overpriced tourist trap. Such a wonderful location, but you are better of choosing any one of a number of better restaurants in the surrounding vicinity.

Overrated Fish and Chip Shop
Very disappointed by Doyles. We took a visiting overseas relative and was amazed at the prices they charge for what your average fish and chip shop serve. Very limited for a seafood restaurant and the choice was limited to chips and roast potatoes.
