Jones Bay Wharf is one of the latest hotspots on the city's restaurant scene, where heritage warehouses are being converted into swanky eateries and the briny scent of seaweed mingles with the expensive perfumes of Sydney socialites. Doltone House is one of these recent arrivals, an offshoot of the 35-year-old Sylvania Waters institution of the same name. This branch is a towering, cavernous space of thick timber beams and original cargo doors. The delicate settings seem slightly incongruous in this masculine space, but the result is delightfully contradictory. Veering away from the more obvious seafood dishes demanded by the location, the modern Italian menu might feature dishes such as spatchcock with porcini mascarpone risotto or anchovy-studded lamb with fennel fritters and vanilla jus. The deck area is the perfect place to start or finish the evening, enjoying the spectacular city and harbour views.
