In complete juxtaposition to the sprawling jacaranda trees of much of Applecross, Ditto Espresso Bar is more industrial chic in appearance than brightly coloured blossoms. A matte concrete floor gives way to low-hanging lights and stark aluminium surfaces. In this respect, the cafe personifies the espresso machine in all its industrial glory, with the eventual product being more prized than the sum of its parts. This is a good thing, considering that the coffee is regarded by many locals as the best in the suburb. The nosh on offer is lauded as well, with the lamb backstrap wrap a popular choice among local caffeine fiends.
