Riding the wave of celeb chefs touting a more casual approach to dining, Assiette's Warren Turnbull is the latest fine-dining chef to throw his hat in the bistro ring.
When a chef as accomplished as Turnbull opens an unstarched eatery, everyone everywhere should sit up and take notice. The food at District Dining (please note the refusal to call it 'Double Ds') has all the refinement of its Albion Street counterpart but also boasts an accessibility that makes it instantly endearing. Pair this with a fit-out that is at once vibrant yet reserved, and you'll start to get the picture of a modern bistro that is firing on all cylinders.
