Dickson Asian Noodle House

If you haven't made a booking at this busy little noodle joint then be prepared to queue, but it's certainly worth it. There are too many specialties to mention, but the noodles are a more-than-safe bet, while the laksas have a stellar reputation. The decor is simple and unpretentious, leaving the focus on the food.

Great food - get Takeaway instead
Great food, but very rushed service. Not a place to eat at your leisure as they want you outta there ASAP. Go the takeaway option, this is not a restaurant who cater well for their dine In customers.

Will certainly return to this restaurant
My wife and I ducked in for a quick lunch. Seafood laksa tasted good. Quite generous with prawns. Would have been better if they had used thick cylinderical rice noodles instead of a mixture of fine rice noodles and yellow noodles. A garnish of Vietnamese mint and a small dollop of chilli sambal would have enhanced the flavour. The spicy hot cha kway teow with shredded pork, chicked & vegetables was yummy. Staff were pleasant and spoke fluent English.

Not as good as usual
I went to dinner at the Noodle House last night and normally I am very happy with their Laksa's. Last night however, I ordered a chicken laksa and it was so spicy, I couldn't eat it. Normally they have a very nice balance between spicy and sweet, and I'm not a wuss to spice either but it was just incredibly hot.

I ended up getting my Laksa in a take-away bowl and taking it home. I poured half a can of coconut milk in and had it for lunch the next day, and even then it was still way too spicy.

So even though last night was different, the laksa's are still pretty good.

Good and Authentic Laksa
Being a Malaysian myself, the Laksa they serve there is definitely authentic and tasty which satisfied my craving for Home food.

A standard for dining out... or take away
Always packed, always busy, always good.
I have sampled some of the menu, but still find myself ordering a laksa almost every time I go in.
If you can find a table to squeeze into you will not be disappointed, but I find myself often opting for the take away, and slurping down my laksa at home

A personal favorite
Despite the many appealing dishes on the menu, I almost always have the laksa combo as it is so good.
The prices are good and service is quick and friendly.
If you go during peak times be prepared to wait for a table as it is frequently very busy.

The best laksa in the country
It's true - the Dickson Noodle House makes the best laksa in the country, followed up with some great noodle dishes.

For an entree try the tempura vegetables, go the prawn laksa for the main, and I'd defy anyone to fit in a third course!

This restaurant is normally packed - but generally the wait is short.

Best laksas in the world!
Fantastic food (incredibly addictive, actually!) and prompt service. This eatery is always packed, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for a table -- it's well worth it!
