Since opening in 2005, Dench Bakers has consistently produced some of the best artisan breads available to the public you're likely to find in Melbourne. Hand-moulded using only certified-organic flour, natural yeasts and traditional European baking methods, Dench's breads range from delicate panini to a robust leavened sourdough.
Of course, if all they did was bake sensational bread that would be fairly impressive, but Dench Bakers also boasts great coffee and gourmet sandwiches (made from their very own focaccia, of course). The only downside is if you ever have to return to eating plain, lifeless, store-bought bread. Luckily, the new store in Hawthorn makes it even easier to get your fix of Dench's baked goodies.
