Delicado is a bright and colourful tapas restaurant, bar and deli. Vibrant in atmosphere and teeming with rustic Spanish character and charm, it is decorated with an assortment of hams, cheeses and cooking utensils hanging from the ceilings and adorning the walls.
Breakfast and dinner see the place buzzing, while local business types quickly pack the seats out for lunch. The chorizo dish is a favourite choice and is served with chimichurri, a South American green salsa. The restaurant also owns a wine shop right next door which is convenient for those who like to bring their own, or you can skip the corkage fee by purchasing alcohol in-house.

Tapas at the top of its field
If you haven't tried this place yet you should! I had dinner here last night with a bunch of hard-to-please friends and every single one of them picked up a business card - what a success! We had a range of tapas dishes to share. The zucchini flowers were possibly the best I've ever had - light, crunchy and free of the ubiquitous sea of oil, the wagyu was cooked to perfection and the pork belly was succulent, tender and delicious. A concise and interesting wine list with a couple of quality locals was mixed with a fine range of internationals, including a green wine from Portugal that I have been trying to get in Sydney for years! The waitstaff were warm, friendly and knew all their dishes and wines well, and we did not even have to wait for a thing - just as we were about to finish a glass, the wine list would appear at the table. Located in a fairly quotidian area but with a casual, laidback atmosphere and outdoor seating available, this place really can't be beaten. With the diversity of tapas available in Sydney, Delicado has certainly set itself at the top the field!
