Undoubtedly the best coffee in Canberra!
Nestled in the far reaches of Dickson s shopping precinct, is a cafe that is neither drab nor sleek in its appearance, but modest and practical. One thing is for certain though, despite its simple presentation, it has the best damn coffee in Canberra!
Aside from the coffee, the food is just as brilliant. The menu is simple and fresh, and includes the very essential all-day-breakfast selection a sure-fire remedy for a Sunday hangover. Aside from the usual menu items (all of which are delicious), there is a constant stream of specials which are both inventive and mouth-watering. The ingredients are very fresh and are sourced and carefully prepared by the experienced chefs, who obviously take pride in delivering good quality and honest food of a high standard, and which won t break the budget.
Matching the excellence in its food and coffee, is the service. The child-friendly cafe is owned and run by a hard-working couple who ensure the smooth running of the establishment. They always make time for a chat, and even go to lengths to learn their customers names. The floor staff are friendly and efficient, and the baristas are probably the best in Canberra.
On one hand, the fact that Deli Marco isn't widely recognised is a good thing, as it remains an untarnished gem in the midst of scruffy semi-suburban Dickson. On the other hand, the amount of thought and care that goes into the establishment and its staff is no less deserving of the highest praise. So if you are desperate for a good proper coffee, then Deli Marco it is.
