As is the case in many suburbs, you have to drift off the main drag of Newtown to discover the best eateries - a shameless generalisation supported by Delhi O Delhi. Nip down Erskineville Road to discover a little ode to India, as the name suggests. Within the elegant room (there are no fluorescent lights here) smart and authentic Indian cuisine is served. The chef includes time at Darlinghurst's Oh! Calcutta! on his resume - a pedigree that should draw in anyone sick of dumbed-down Indian food.

A delightful experience!
As a fan of REAL Indian food, we were blown out by the awesome food. Outstanding authentic North Indian food, good service and comfortable seating ensured that we had an outstanding evening. One other thing, at $30-35 per pax, this place really gives value for money.highly recommended for lovers of genuine Indian food.

Fantastic
I've been here for dinner about five times (in big and small groups) and absolutely love it. The food is incredibly good value and I have never been disappointed. Even with seafood dishes and numerous entrees etc it has only ever been around $25-35 per person. It is by far the best Indian restaurant in Newtown. The service is also fantastic - very friendly and attentive. They also have a dendy movie deal which I am yet to try out - looks good though. I couldn't recommend this place more!

Thank god this place is in the innerwest
If this restaurant was in the east and everyone new about it you would never get a table, as it is i would suggest you book.
the service is fantastic but the food is to die for. The lamb cutlets are a must have and if you can forget about the butter chicken for one night there are so many great things to try. chicken pepper fry or the fish are just so good. i Must say it definitley has the best butter chicken i have ever had.
Great wine list and a place to take all your friends before they take you.

Best Indian in Newtown, if not Sydney!
Been here numerous times and always have a great night.
Food is excellent, atmosphere intimate yet vibrant. Dishes not too hot for someone who prefers mild. Favourites are the butter chicken, vegetarian eggplant dish, also try the baby goat!

The best Indian Restaurant in Sydney
We love the food! The ambience is modern and the service is great! The worlds best little lamb chops that are the most tender ever with the most wonderful taste, the curries are so rich and the meat is tender and lean... can recommend Beef vindaloo (for those who like it hot), goat aloo, lamb curry in cashew paste, garlic nan, peshwari nan. The prices are very good for the quality of food, service and ambience....worth the drive if you don't normally go over there.

The best Indian in Sydney
I took my boyfriend here in Jan and we went back on 5th Apr for his 30th b'day and were amazed by the great service, great ambience and happy people (the restaurant was extremely busy). They remembered our names and even what we had ordered last time! The food is delicious, not very spicy. My fave is the Ghost Lazeez and begetable kulcha and the gulab jamun yum! A must go!

Brilliant!
I didn't know what to expect from this out-of-the-way eatery but I was blown away by the complex flavours. Perfectly crisp palak papri chaat was doused in tart-sweet tamarind and cool yoghurt and I would crawl over hot coals for the tender adraki lamb chops which burst with flavour. The saag paneer was reliably good and chicken chettinad, while still excellent, wasn't as spicy as we'd hoped for. A highly recommendable restaurant.
