De Los Santos

Tapas is the mainstay of Spanish restaurants, and De Los Santos has an interesting array to choose from, but avoids the cliches of other Spanish eateries.

nice atmosphere, mediocre paellas
The tapas were quite nice, no complaints there, and the sangria was good too. I wasn't impressed by the paellas though--overly seasoned and dry as a previous reviewer said. The seafood one had plenty of seafood, and the meat paella decent amounts of meat, but I'd still give them a miss. Good atmosphere and decent service.

WOW..!!!!!!
I've eaten in most of the best restaurants around the world and it takes a lot to impress me.

Firsly, the food was fresh and delicious with a great variety to choose from. Overall, excellent food!

The atmosphere was warm and relaxed.

To top it all off.... the service and staff were excellant, catering to our every need, very efficient and friendly.

This restaurant is one of the best that I have been in a long time. Very glad to have found this little gem.
Will be going back on a regular basis.

Thursday Night Dinner
Maybe it was because it was a winter weeknight and the chef couldn't be bothered, but the Tapas we had for entree, which was an eel and chorizo dish had only 3 pieces of eel and 3 thin pieces of chorizo, and yes we know they are not big dishes, but even the calamari tapas at $16 was small and both quite stingy servings, which were not very tasty at all. Our main dish was the Seafood paella and it was very dry, over seasoned with spices and you could count the individual pieces of seafood on display but nothing within the rice dish, even the peas in the paella were so hard and dry all $26. We weren't even given a bowl to wash our fingers with after we had to peel the prawns ourselves and came away with yellow stained fingers, which we found to be unacceptable. The service was polite but with no real warmth or friendliness, the food was exactly how I rated it at 1 and a half stars at best, but the decor and other customers within the restaurant lent a nice atmosphere. Overall very poor and will not be a returning customer. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great Service
This restaurant is fantastic. We go quite often and just when you think it can not get better - it does! The food is fantastic but it is the staff who make it. They are so accommodating and friendly. Our last visit there we had our baby niece and nothing was too much trouble (right down to finding a suitable place for her to have her nappy changed!). I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a no-fuss night out with great Sangria and fantastic Tapas and Paella!
